Oncology Nursing Seminar 2026

We are proud to share the successful completion of the Oncology Nursing Seminar 2026, organized by the Indo-American College of Nursing in association with Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.

Bringing together 350+ nursing students and professionals from across the two Telugu states, the seminar served as a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Expert sessions and the presence of eminent leaders highlighted the vital role of oncology nurses in delivering compassionate, evidence-based cancer care.

National Training Project: Practical Pediatric Oncology

Strengthen your clinical expertise in Pediatric Hematology & Oncology through this focused academic training program designed for practicing clinicians and young pediatricians.

Hosted at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad, this program aims to enhance practical skills, strengthen clinical decision-making, and promote multidisciplinary learning in pediatric oncology care.

The training is organized by the Department of Medical Oncology (Pediatric Hematology, Oncology & BMT), offering structured academic sessions, practical insights, and expert guidance to support better patient outcomes.

Participants will benefit from focused discussions, case-based learning, and exposure to evolving practices in pediatric oncology, making it a valuable academic opportunity for clinicians.

In collaboration with IAP PHO, PATS & IAP-TCB, the initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening pediatric cancer care and advancing academic excellence.

Research Methodology Workshop

We are delighted to share that today, under our Medical Oncology initiative, Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, in association with the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR), successfully organized the Research Methodology Workshop.

This full-day academic program brought together participants for an intensive journey through the fundamentals of research design, defining research problems, case-control vs cohort perspectives, data collection and statistical concepts, interpretation, and report writing. The sessions also highlighted best practices in publication writing and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in scientific research, culminating in a discussion on reading and evaluating practice-changing papers.

Participants and faculty alike expressed that this was a rare and valuable initiative, with topics that were highly relevant, impactful, and thoughtfully curated. Many shared that the workshop offered great clarity, practical insights, and useful guidance for every clinician, making it a truly enriching academic experience.

The selection of themes was widely appreciated as timely and essential, and the initiative was commended as a significant contribution by our Medical Oncology department.

The workshop reflected our Silver Jubilee commitment to advancing cancer care and academic excellence, combining structured lectures, interactive discussions, and practical insights.

Subramanyeshwara Rao (Medical Director), Dr. Ashish Gulia (Director, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Punjab), and Dr. Srinath Gupta (Organizing Secretary), setting the tone for a day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and patient-centered excellence.

Highlights of the Day

Delegates engaged in interactive lectures, video presentations, and case-based discussions covering the evolution of orthopaedic oncology, biopsy principles, radiology of bone tumors, management of cystic bone lesions and giant cell tumors, pathological fractures, and advanced limb-salvage techniques including pelvic and sacral resections.

Senior experts enriched the discussions with insightful questions, while faculty conducted hands-on demonstrations of surgical instruments and implants—bridging theory with real-world clinical practice.
Key Takeaway: This program was more than a CME—it was a reaffirmation of our mission to share knowledge, refine skills, and strengthen patient outcomes through education, innovation, and collaboration.

CME & Workshop on Breast Imaging & Interventions

Empowering Precision in Breast Imaging

As part of our Silver Jubilee celebrations, Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute hosted a full-day CME & Workshop on Breast Imaging & Interventions, led by our Department of Radiology.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. J. Jagan Mohan Reddy, President of IRIA, in the presence of senior leadership — Dr. Veeraiah Koppula (HOD & Chief, Radiology & Imaging), Dr. Kalpana Raghunath (Associate Director, Academics), Dr. K. Phani Koteswara Rao (Medical Superintendent), and senior consultants Dr. Anitha Mandava and Dr. Kamala Sannapareddy.

Workshop Highlights

Over 100 radiologists and postgraduate delegates participated in immersive live training sessions covering advanced breast imaging techniques and interventional procedures — including image-guided biopsies, wire localization, stereotactic and vacuum-assisted interventions, all conducted under expert faculty supervision.

Onco-Airway Workshop 2025

Advanced Airway Management in Onco-Anesthesia

The Department of Onco-Anesthesia at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) successfully conducted the “Onco-Airway Workshop 2025” on October 5, 2025, bringing together anesthesiologists from across the region for an immersive learning experience in advanced airway management for cancer patients.

Held under the leadership of Dr. Basanth Kumar Rayani, Head of Department & Chief Consultant – Anesthesia, and Dr. M. Asiel Christopher, Organising Secretary, the workshop focused on the theme “No-Desat”, emphasizing preparedness, precision, and patient safety in managing complex airway scenarios in head and neck cancer surgeries.
